Best Bourbon Gifts for 2026: What Our Owner Actually Recommends
Every December, the question we get most is: "What bourbon should I get as a gift?" So instead of another giant list of bourbon gift ideas, we asked our owner, who took over his father's Chula Vista liquor store after 20-plus years in the family, what he actually hands customers across the counter. These are the bottles he recommends, the ones he drinks himself, and the gift set that surprised everyone last year.
The short version
Under $60: Eagle Rare 10 Year
Around $100: Blanton's Original
For someone who knows bourbon: Weller Antique 107
The gift that wows the room: Doc Holliday Revolver Set
Best bourbon gift under $60: Eagle Rare 10 Year
$54.94
"100% Eagle Rare 10. I drink it myself. It's very smooth, very good, and for around $55 it's amazing."
Ten years old, made at Buffalo Trace, and easy to sip neat. It's the bottle we suggest when someone wants to spend less without it looking like they did.

Best bourbon gift around $100: Blanton's Original
$99.85
"Honestly? As a bourbon I'd give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. But everybody just loves Blanton's. It's allocated, it looks great on a shelf, and people light up when they open it."
It was our best-selling bottle last holiday season. Every bottle comes from a single barrel and has a horse-and-jockey stopper, one of eight, so it's also the start of a collection.

Best gift for a bourbon lover: Weller Antique 107
$99.49
"If they're trying to impress someone and want something that's really good, I send them to Weller Antique. It's one of my favorite bottles."
A wheated bourbon at 107 proof: rich and bold, but still soft enough to sip. This is the pick for the person who already knows their bourbon.

Best bourbon gift set: Doc Holliday 10 Year Revolver Set
$199.99
"It literally is the perfect gift. There's a revolver you put on the bottle. You open up the case on a bar and it looks beautiful. Who doesn't love that?"
It comes in a sheriff-badge case with a crystal decanter of 10-year bourbon and an engraved revolver that you put together and use as the cork. We sold 111 of these last holiday season, and one company ordered 100 sets for its team.

Most underrated bourbon gift: Frank August Small Batch
$71.99
"It won best bourbon in the world, and still not a lot of people buy it. It's so smooth, it's 100 proof, it drinks really well. Everybody who tries it likes it."
It was named World's Best Bourbon at the 2025 International Wine & Spirit Competition. Give it to the bourbon fan who thinks they've tried everything.

Best gift for a collector: Blanton's Horse Collection
$999.99 for all 8 bottles
"A customer ordered the full set and lined up every bottle on their bar. Each horse is a different moment in a race, from the start to the finish line. They told me it was beautiful."
Each stopper carries one letter, and in order they spell B-L-A-N-T-O-N-S. Collecting them one bottle at a time can take years. This set gets all eight at once.

Asked what he drinks at home, he didn't hesitate: "Mainly Weller." Here are two more of his picks if you're shopping for someone with similar taste.

Eagle Rare 12 Year$159.99 · two more years than the classic
We'll gift wrap it for you
We do our gift wrapping by hand at the shop. If the bottle comes in a box, we wrap the box with the bottle inside. If it doesn't, we wrap the bottle itself in holiday paper and finish it with a ribbon and bow, like the one in this photo.
Add gift wrap and a gift note right on the product page before you check out, and we'll take care of the rest.
