Refund & Store Credit Policy
Refund & Store Credit Policy
1. Product Returns & Refunds
All sales are final. We do not accept returns or provide refunds or exchanges on any purchase, including alcohol and non-alcohol merchandise, except where required by applicable law or as stated below.
We do not accept returns of alcohol under any circumstances. Many states independently prohibit or restrict retailers from accepting returned alcohol; this policy applies regardless of the reason for the requested return.
If an item you received is defective, damaged in transit, or materially different from what you ordered, contact us at info@liquorroyale.com within 4 days of delivery; we will evaluate those claims individually and may offer a replacement or Store Credit at our discretion.
We may deny any requested exception that we reasonably believe is fraudulent or abusive.
[Operational requirement, not just document text: under California Civil Code § 1723 (and similar laws in other states), a “no refunds” policy is only enforceable if it is conspicuously disclosed to the customer before purchase — for example, posted on the product page, at checkout, and on the order confirmation/receipt. If this policy is only reachable through a footer link, California law defaults to giving customers a refund right despite what this document says. Make sure your checkout flow and receipts actually display the all-sales-final policy, not just this page.]
2. Effect of Exceptions on Store Credit
In the limited cases where we accept a return or grant an exception under Section 1, and you earned Store Credit on that purchase, we will deduct the associated Store Credit from your account. If your balance is insufficient to cover the deduction, we may apply the difference against Store Credit you earn in the future.
3. Store Credit Is Not Redeemable for Cash
Store Credit cannot be exchanged, refunded, or redeemed for cash or a cash equivalent, except where required by applicable law. No change will be given where a Store Credit redemption exceeds the value of a purchase.
4. Alcohol Eligibility for Store Credit Redemption
As of the Effective Date, Store Credit may be applied toward the purchase of alcoholic beverages only in the following states (the “Alcohol-Eligible States”): Arizona, California, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, South Carolina, Washington State, and the District of Columbia. In North Carolina and Virginia, Store Credit may be applied to beer and wine purchases only, and may not be applied to spirits, which are sold exclusively through state-operated stores in those states. In every other state, Store Credit may be applied only to non-alcohol merchandise. We determine and may revise the list of Alcohol-Eligible States at any time, in our sole discretion and without prior notice, to reflect changes in law or our legal analysis. The version of this policy posted at liquorroyale.com always reflects the current, controlling list, and it supersedes any other list of eligible states we may have published elsewhere.
5. Store Credit Upon Cancellation of Membership
Canceling Royale Reserve or Corporate Ordering does not cause you to forfeit, and does not expire, any Store Credit balance already in your account. Your Store Credit remains available for redemption under these policies after cancellation, in the same manner as before, unless and until it becomes subject to reporting as unclaimed property under Section 6 due to prolonged inactivity.
Royale Reserve (paid): the $99 membership fee, once charged for a 3-month billing cycle, is non-refundable, including if you cancel before that cycle ends, except where required by law. If you cancel, your cancellation stops future automatic renewals; you keep Royale Reserve access and benefits through the end of the 3-month cycle you already paid for, and will not be charged again after that.
6. Store Credit as a Liability; Unclaimed Property
Unredeemed Store Credit represents a liability on our books — money or value we owe you — not a guarantee of any benefit beyond what these policies describe.
Many states treat unredeemed gift cards, certificates, or store credit as unclaimed or abandoned property after a period of inactivity, commonly (though not universally) three to five years, depending on the state. Where a state's unclaimed-property (escheatment) law applies to your Store Credit, we will:
- Track the applicable dormancy period for your account based on your state of residence and your last qualifying activity;
- Provide any notice that law requires before reporting or remitting a balance as unclaimed property;
- Report and remit the unredeemed balance to the appropriate state agency as and when required; and
- Maintain records of Store Credit issuance, redemption, and reporting as required by applicable law.
This process does not limit your ability to redeem Store Credit at any time before it is reported or remitted as unclaimed property. Except where legally required, we do not charge inactivity or service fees on Store Credit, and Store Credit does not expire — which avoids most states' escheatment triggers tied to expiration, though dormancy-based reporting obligations may still apply in some states.
